Install vents to allow the hot air out of the top w/an intake near the
bottom. Alternatively, a vent fan.
Fish should not be fatigued while swimming although exercise is good for
them. The formula for "safe" velocities (I think it was based on
salmonid research and applied to rectangular raceways):
V<= 5.25/Length^0.37
V is safe speed (of the current) in fish lengths/sec.
Length is fish length in cm.
If the current is too fast, can you re-direct the pump output to change
it?

I have been experimenting with hydroponics, growing tomatoes, basil, and
cilantro in an NFT system. Everything seemed to be going well, but
recently the cilantro just flopped over. It's definitely not looking too
good right now. Everything else appears to being growing strong.
Any suggestions? Is there some sort of secret to growing cilantro?

Just guessing, Jennifer, but I have found that cilantro grows well without
bolting and going to seed outdoors here in Texas during the fall when it is
cooler and in semi-shady corners of the garden, compared with tomatoes and
basil, which prefer more light and heat. Perhaps some very strong light /
heat zapped your poor cilantro in the greenhouse, but the basil and
tomatoes just soaked it up.??
Hmm....Could you drape some of that lightweight, spun polyester row cover
cloth over the section of your NFT system that you have your cilantro
growing in? That might help cut down the light and reduce the heat load on
the surfaces of your cilantro greenery....
Cilantro bolting to seed is temperature driven, too, so I don't know how
you might control that economically while growing tomatoes and basil in the
same greenhouse at higher temperatures....You can buy the row crop cover
cloth by the roll at garden supply centers.
Hope that helps.
