Thanks alot for the spontaneous help. It is 1 876 983-3829. I will leave
the fax plugged in for the next 2 days or so in case I am not at home.
Where are you located?
Cheers.. :)

Ha aha hahhh haaaaaaaaaaa
I dont know if I am laughing more about Ted Grounds reply, yes Si, tu
bello Tedzolo.. (Im gonna have to give you a seperate reply..;)I didnt
remember you Americanos associated more to the word broad than is usual
in these latitudes... ;) it was meant sincerely though, and your "out of
the trenches" list of water turbine suppliers shows that to be a true
assessment. )or some of the other responses, Jim yours got me writing
right away...
No guys, (thanks for all the spontaneous suggestions...) it WASNT a
typo,( I just happened to have done a joy dance around my laptop)that
was 900 metres, nine HUNDRED ha ha hahhh metres...
When I saw this I thought I was walking in the Garden of Eden, deep
countryside, and untouched hills and deep gorge with a river flowing
through. Only thing that pricked my bubble, were cow lice, which leave
nasty bites, hence one of Sues questions re alternative feeds (those
buggers..!!) and herbs that may act as repellents.
Does anyone have a few rules of thumb for me, of what to look for and
rough conversions from fall to power output, because I certainly would
like to spec out my options thoroughly here..as Jim has suggested.
I am thinking of creating a flow through system, and using water driven
paddlewheels and falls to aerate. Are there any rules of thumb here too?
Is is a trial and error situation or are there any research papers done
on this?
Thanks... Mucha mucho muchas much!!

Hi Mikey,Sounds to me like you need to rethink your idea on power
generation,if you have what I have pictured in my mind, all you need to do is
take some good photo's and take them to the travel agencys, and at the head of
the foot path, set up a stand and sell Deep Woods OFF.This place is obviously
in a very remote location, therefore you need to consider the obstacles of
getting the electricity back out,if you go underground,is it going to have to
go thru rock,if you go overhead, you need to consider Hurricane damage.Just a
thought.Ken

Can't say about the long term stability of calcined bagasse ash but I
have some gravel sized piles that
have been exposed to tropical downpours for six months and there seems
to be no apparant
breakdown at all.

We experimented with a volcanic ash from some
diatomaceous earth mines from Nevada USA and found them to be too rich
in
certain metals (iron, boron, strontium) to be used.
This will have to be tested , I am going to get a standard macro
elements analysis and will add the
above mentioned [if the cost isn't prohibitve].

I will soon be in receipt of micro hydro information developed for use in
British Columbia small streams..
When I receive it I will let you know it merits.
Eating garlic pills works in the Mexican jungle coast.(the "he hen"-like a
black fly is ubiquitous there). Start taking them before you are to face the
small biting critters. Let me know if it works for you.

If this is an open system then you only have the weight of the water
acting
on the length of the lever arm, ie. ....radius of your water wheel...in
other words no more hydralic head unless you can direct that jet of
water at
the paddle wheels pretty close, even then your loosing a lot of
efficiency. Piping to handle that pressure andlength of run is going to
be costly , shame to waste on a simple water wheel ... Not speaking
from experience but know some basic irrigation/hydralic theory and I
think it applies.I'd think a closed system would be much more
efficient. Your waterpressure goes to zero when oppen up the pipe...
No advantage then from getting water from on high...
billevans
and falls to aerate. Are there any rules of thumb here too?

Hi Ted,
so you liked it? Great! Hopefully one day I'll be in your neighborhood =
and can see what such a rotor looks like. I saw that idea somewhere on =
a website, but have never seen any in real life.

Hi yall.
I just installed a new computer which puts me a little closer to the =
1990s, I guess.
Now I am using Windows 98 and Outlook Express and it seems a little =
strange at this point.
I just want to know, as a test, if this font and the margins come out =
O.K. with you all,
or does that depend on the server, Paula???
Anyway, if the font and or margin are goofy and distracting, I dont want =
that...I will let my messages fall into that category, so let me know =
and I'll change it all as needed...

Hi Ted,
I bet you'll enjoy that new computer. They'll spoil you quick. ;)
About your message...
You're sending out a copy in text and an additional copy in html as a
multi-part message in MIME format. Looks fine to me on NS4.5, but some
people with older mailer software will eventually complain, since
they'll see all the code displayed with the message. It also increases
the size of messages and looks funny on some digests. Safest to set your
mailer for text only unless you need special fonts or colors.
