Several months ago there was some speculation on feeding sprouts to Tilapia
Well I decided to run a small experiment.
I used Alfalfa , Bean , Wheat , Broccoli and Watercress all where purchased
as seeds for sprouting for humans .
Seed type amount fed amount eaten 24/hrs
Alfalfa
3 day old sprouts 1/2 cup 0
5 day old sprouts 1/2 cup 0
( very green )
Bean
5 days non green 1/2 cup 0
Wheat
1 inch green height 1/2 cup 1/4 cup
Broccoli
sprouted to green stage 1/2 cup 0
Watercress
2 leaf stage 1/2 cup 1/2 cup
Trimming from mature plants 2 cups acted
like Piranha and
finished it in 20 minutes

Wow! My watercress grew like a weed in the tilapia waste water!!
Nice to read you again:]
I originally raised redworms for feed but they were worth more than the fish
feed as a sale item. Of course ,I never sold them.
This makes more sense. Do you think it would affect the taste? I guess that
would wear off like any flavour with purging....
