Tunji-
you've recieved a lot of good advice-however . . .
is the 10,000 gal tank the only tank in your system or is it one module?
put another way, what is your ultimate production goal? if it's the
approximately 20,000 pds/yr (assumming that your 11,000 pds +/- is the
standing biomass), is land at such a premium that you need to go to such a
high level of intensity?
assuming that the 170 gal/min is the recirculation rate and relies upon
electrical pumps, your system design will have to include protection from
supersaturation, a leak at an intake gasket (or pipe connection) could cause
major mortalities from gas bubble disease. (supersaturation can also be
caused during the heating of culture water as well).
by the way, how were you planning on monitoring the nitrogenous species
(NH4+, NO2-, NO3-)?
