Ron,

There's some 38 files with a total of 2MB. But I see that David Atkinson's

posted some alternative sites. Perhaps we should check them first.

Colin

What do you need to upload. I have a site and we could put it there if needed.

I charge a bit over a thousand dollars with two batteries %(

Don't let that scare you cause keep in mind I am charging

FULL retail and I have to build a solar charging system,

install it AND supply a warranty :o

You can buy this system (and there are several others beside

this company) at many hardware and pump stores and save

yourself some mark-up :>

If you can do a little wiring yourself the price plummets.

There are a lot of solar people out there who would love to

work with this and help you with hand drawn schematics, PV

panels and little controllers. (Keep in mind this uses raw

battery power. No high energy 115 volt conversion is

needed).

The other thing to do is call around on deep cycle

batteries. The price difference can be double for the same

quality and size. Shipping on deep cycle batteries is

prohibitive so buy local. They should be around $50 or so

each.

You can also call places like Jade Mountain (or others) for

parts and help.

> Also how many gallons per hour can it handle?

Pumps up to 1380 Gallons Per Hour (23 GPM MAX.) with one

foot of lift.

Two-battery system pump up to 7100 gallons per charge with a

maximum discharge height of 30 ft. (12 VDC) and maximum flow

of 15.5 GPM at 10 ft. above pumping level (12 VDC) and 23

GPM at 1 ft. above pumping level (12 VDC).

Single battery system pumps 3500 gallons per charge.

During power outage, pump will run continuously for 6 hours

on one batter

and 12 hours on the two-battery system.

Pumps up to 1380 Gallons Per Hour

The catalog companies often only carry one grade of floating row

covers. There are at least 5 different thicknesses of row covers, with

the lightest being .3 oz/square yard. I saw samples of Agrofabric this

week and was very impressed with the lightest one for my purposes here

in Florida. Unfortunately it comes in 1,644' rolls. The next grade up

(.5 oz/ sq yd) starts at 250'. The catalog companies don't specify the

weight. The higher the weight the greater temperature is trapped under

the fabric (good for some, bad for others) and more light is blocked.

Does anybody have a source for ultralight floating row covers in small

quantities? I need a maximum of about 300 linear feet.

Thanks Marc, would you estimate the cost of parts alone for a

do-it-yourself job at half that amount?

Well most larger book stores that have a large magazine section carry it.

or you can visit their web site at http://www.growingedge.com
