I liked your attitude Jim. Being new, I had to be sure to not be the

cause of a community problem & learn 'normal' limits, while 'Seriously

Seeking Solar.'

>Bill, I think we all agree that it would be great to have a set of

archives, FAQ's and data bases for all aspects of aquaponics.

Of course that implies finding a web-server to load them onto. Bill, are

you game?

Adriana

Why Adriana, what do you have in mind exactly? I am all aflush with the

attention But "I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, &

you can't prove anything"... Steve brought this up I think. Are you

suggesting:

A)I find a server, B) Use mine (it's no longer the server it once was,

& wouldn't handle it well now-a-days) or C) Create a FAQ on a found free

site and D) Administer it from members' input?

Whichever. But whichever, all should suggest which sites they've

visited that have FAQ's and liked the organization or features, and/or

list those particular characteristics preferred or mandated.

Realize, my temperment and R&D Tech background (where it's always 'never

been done before') make me somewhat fearless. ("Fools wander in where...")

In otherwords, I'd have to learn it. That is the best way to learn almost

anything, tho' and would help me learn awkwapahniques. "And those that

can't Do it, TEACH it." (See disclaimer for that last remark...)

I spoke to my son, who works at some internet company and he suggested

it was likely rather simple. Tho' he hasn't done it. (But has taught my

14 year old to surpass me, tho' in fairness, the younger one hacked the

first program I gave him, "Mario Teaches Typing, when 10, the first half

hour he had it.") He works full time, gets 'A's full time in college,

but couldn't muster public high school.)

If someone wants these reins (if that's what it is) you're totally

welcome. In which case, I'd like to help & learn, takeover when you're on

vacation.

Tripod, Zoom, Netscape, Geocities, and possibly eGroups (if ONElist who

bought them, hasn't ruined them) come to mind, for different reasons.

Generally, 20s Meg's is the free limit. Might be enuf', might have to

eventually split into sub-sections and link. Could be a 'community'

project. RSVP.

Bill

P.S. I'm a stone's throw from San Fransisco, my computer log-in in

Eutechtic so I'm open-minded, & I willingly served to protect your right

to have 'Dancing Fish,' but 'Dancing Fish'? Maybe I'm not your man. LOL

For the plant side of the equation here is a fabulous collection of

Ron,

Many thanks for this latest info (though even I was aware that the

figure I gave was unlikely to be sustained at night), links and for

previous help.

Thanks also to all who have given info and ideas. All were appreciated

even if I didn't appear to give them the attention they deserved.

I have noted peoples concern as to bandwidth use on the list and will

not be raising these kind of subjects again. Maybe some way can be found

to discuss all aspects of aquaponics from simple outdoor ponds to

details of complex, high-performance systems to wild ideas - without

using completely seperate lists. I don't know. Until then, will be

keeping quiet but will continue to absorb the excellent info

generated/communicated by everyone here - unless I have something more

mainstream to say. :)

See Bill,

I told you this was a great forum. Got some people who can challenge

your intellect.

And you are never a bother.....just got to find the time to digest some

of this

information.

Take care...........SS

Didn't several offers come a month or two ago to do the archiving, offer

the bandwidth and so on? What came of it?

Dave
