All:

I am new to this thread (a little under 2 weeks now) but just wanted to warn
everyone that the last email that I just got from this message ring was from
(nilancita@centtel.com) was infected with a very nasty virus. Fortunately
my virus program caught it (I work for a computer software company and were
shutdown by the nimda virus and we have protection, goes to show you,
protection doesn't always work). Those of you that did not notice this, I
suggest you get a virus program and clean your computer. The subject matter
was re: Kang kong . It was the very last email I received from this
discussion ring.

Your newbie,

Big George

I tried one bed on the ground, but had a problem with red ants.
Very difficult to control them, and they were cutting the plants to
peices. At waist height, mounted on steel beams, I have managed to control
them
although they sometimes break through my defences.

My outdoor grow beds were placed waist high for convience, since I was
basicaly working with cut flowers I thought that would be a good heigth,.
was
I wrong the beds were too high or I was too short,I used a ladder to cut
most
of the blooms and that was a job. when I move into the GH I plan to have
beds
almost on the ground.I would rather bend over to sow the seeds that use a
ladder for harvest.

Hi-
Also you may go to
http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.nimda.a@mm.html
for more information.
There is a microsoft patch . Quote from symsntee " If you visit a
compromised Web server, you will be prompted to download an .eml (Outlook
Express) email file, which contains the worm as an attachment. You can
disable "File Download" in your Internet Explorer internet security zones to
prevent this compromise."

Kris,
The only reason I responded is due to the fact you posted your opinion to
the list. You do not know who I am or where I or some of my family members
have served or now serve. Please do not patronize me. My brothers work in a
room under the white house that does not exist.
there is a base jest south our ranch that we have worked at for years. It
trains and has trained some of us for years in languages we use in places
out side of the US. There is a lot going on most do not know and there is a
lot we know about that a liberal democrat controlled congress would do
nothing about for years. Bob Mc... my step brother lost an eye in the middle
east 26 months ago getting a report on one of the groups who did not get
there target in D.C. this week, he did report very accurately how they
almost got it. If you want to share you crap on list go for it. I will share
mine. Two weeks ago I tried to tell the list as much as can be said. Now I
will say it to you. Start storing things you cannot produce. You now most of
the rest do not have the stomach to stop what is going to take place. There
is a time table that was turned over as part of a report from over two
years ago.
The ":they" are only a few days off of there schedule.
If I am wrong you will only be out a little money for food
and things you will use any way. If I am right I have washed my soul of any
responsibility to warn my neighbor
as the Good Book says. What do you have to loose?
Good luck
Brent

This is a post that I did not want to send. I have
a great deal of respect for both of you. Like me,
you guys have strong feelings, are outspoken and are
very concerned. There is more going on here...much more
...than people are being told. I could make a very good
(and long) arguement for why I feel this way but this isn't
the place. Brent, being prepared is wise...not paranoid
(as many think). Everyone wants to get on with their lives
and make this all go away...I wish it would go away too but I
know it isn't. I still do my ordinary things and take time every
day to get away from everything, listen to some music and relax...
but I am also "planning for the worst, while hoping for the best".
The only the thing for certain is uncertainty ...
Kris, I didn't see what started all this but I think I have
a good idea. I'll write you offlist. Save your energy, guys...
we may need it.

peace...

Does anyone have any experience with the honda
multi-fuel generators that will run on gas, lp gas
or natural gas? I was just wondering how well they
worked. Brent, in an old note to me you said that
a diesel engine can run on natural gas. What modifications
need to be made? I know a gas engine needs a dry fuel
type carb.

Almost all diesels have a governor. If yours does, almost no changes are
necessary. Any metering valve with an auto cut off for the type of
alternate fuel you have must be placed in the air intake system. You start
the diesel, get it up to rpm, under load and start turning on the alternate
fuel. The governor automatically starts cutting off the diesel. We have
used; 100 proof alcohol, biogas, propane, natural gas, gasoline and "smoke"
from a special wood /trash incinerator.
You need to filter what ever you use and remember diesels need top end
lubrication. In a shortage you can stretch out you diesel a long time. You
can also add the used oil from the diesel back in the fuel if properly
filtered.

Sorry Adrianna,

That is retail, but it doesn't matter. The stuff grows like a weed. I'm
constantly cutting it back and making more plants. The Philippinos are
amazed that I'm growing it...HAVE A LOT OF REQUESTS FOR SAMPLES...They are
just amazed. I concentrate on the Philippino population but this vegetable
is popular for all asian people. I tasted some tonight......guess what...it
taste good...kind of like a "meaty" (for lack of a better word) lettuce.
But, the bottom line is that it actually taste good.

Be sure to check with state regulators. I believe that water spinach
is considered an invasive (illegal) plant in some parts of the country
like Florida and possibly Texas?

Hi Will,

I "rest my case" with the endorsement from my friend Steve (somewhere in
China...or wherever he is)......just watch your fish......"listen to your
fish" as I say....I haven't checked my water quality for months, but I
listen to my fish.

DON'T BUY ALL THAT EXPENSIVE EQUIPMENT. IT ISN'T NECESSARY.

I'm going to be out of town for a few days, but I will, I hope, be available
@ careplus22.

Take care my friend.......Steve

Will,
I get my test kits Shipped over from the UK, as I have not
yet located a source in the Philipinnes.
These sites below will show you what they are,
http://www.reefkeeper.co.uk/pages/testkits.htm
http://www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/testkits.htm
however, there should be somebody else on the list who can give you a
supplier
in your area ( anybody ? )
I also use an Oxygen Meter.

I agree with Steve ( Mr Socially Insensitive ), that at first I was
using them all the time, but as time went on, and I got more comfortable
with
the system, I needed them less and less. The Fish and the Water Clarity are
good indicators. I still check them once a week,
but then, I have not been doing this for very long myself either.
I did find them useful for checking the water quality whilst the Filter
Bed was coming on line.

Your advice is practical. What more could I ask for? I'll watch the
fish, which arrive Saturday. Stripped bass hybrids.

I don't mind making mistakes once, but it is usually better to have
someone else make them for you. Thanks.
